EMT
EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) play an important role in today’s healthcare system. For those interested in training to become an EMT, you may have some questions about this career. For example, “how do I become an EMT?” Or, perhaps, “what are the job duties of an EMT?” Or, “How do I become licensed as an EMT?” To answer these and other EMT related questions often means getting info on an EMT training program. Dorsey College can help you. Here at Dorsey College, we offer an Emergency Medical Technician training program. This program is designed to prepare students to provide basic life support (BLS) to sick and injured patients.
EMT classes will strive to teach students about a variety of topics. These may include patient assessment, basic airway procedures (including Combitube), BLS for Healthcare Providers, treatment of patients in shock, spinal immobilization, and patient privacy (HIPPA). At Dorsey College, students in our Emergency Medical Technician program will be exposed to each of these topics. They can also gain professional exposure in the field.
