Practical Nurse Program at Dorsey Schools
Dorsey Schools offers a Practical Nurse training program. The Practical Nurse certificate program at Dorsey Schools includes classroom instruction and practical hands-on training. The program is designed to help students prepare for rewarding careers in the healthcare field. The program covers a variety of topics. This includes Computer Applications, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Practical Nursing Fundamentals. Students will also be exposed to Applied Math for Nursing/Dosages and Calculations, Pharmacology and Medication Delivery, Mental Health, Medical and Surgical Nursing, Maternal and Newborn Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, and more. Students who successfully complete this program will receive a certificate in Practical Nursing. Graduates will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN exam. Upon successfully passing the NCLEX-PN exam, they may become licensed as a Practical Nurse. Licensure as a Practical Nurse is required for employment by the State of Michigan.
