Despite all of the snow we’ve already experienced here in Michigan, winter hasn’t even officially arrived! Saturday, December 21, 2013 is the Winter Solstice, marking the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
Whatever the weather or season, students and staff of Dorsey Schools are dedicated to helping those in need, especially on the longest night of the year. This Friday, December 20, 2013, Advantage Heath Centers, in partnership with The Cathedral of St. Paul and Dorsey Culinary Academy have once again joined forces.
Using their culinary talent, our students will prepare hot meals for those who are homeless in the city of Detroit. Meals will be served at The Cathedral of St. Paul, located at 4800 Woodward Ave., Detroit 48201. In addition to providing meals, warming gifts will be distributed and an Ecumenical service will be held at 1 p.m.
If you would like to get involved, please email ahamm@advantagehealthcenters.org.
