AIDS Walk Detroit is a local organization. Founded in 1991 by a small group of merchants and shop keepers in Royal Oak, AIDS Walk Detroit has raised over $3.8 million over the past 25 years. They provide financial support for programs in HIV prevention and education. AIDS Walk Detroit also lends support and services to individuals who are HIV positive. They also seek to promote awareness through local events. One such event is taking place Sunday September 25th at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
