Irwin Tools has declared Friday, September 15, 2017, National Tradesmen Day. It’s a day when we can all thank the men and women who work in skilled trades in roles such as electrical technicians, HVAC systems technicians, plumbers, welders, drywall installers, framers, mechanics, masons, carpenters, and auto mechanics.
National Tradesmen Day 2017
National Tradesmen Day was established to raise awareness and give thanks to the various invaluable skilled trades’ fields as well as those who work in the skilled trades. It’s a day set aside to recognize the people help power our homes and businesses, ensure our heating and cooling systems work properly, help keep the water flowing, our cars moving and much more.
Two types of Skilled Trade careers are HVAC Systems Technicians and Electrical Technicians. Below we give a bit of information about each.
HVAC Systems Technicians
HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air conditioning. The tasks and duties that HVAC Systems Technicians perform may include maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair and/or replacement of HVAC equipment. HVAC jobs may be found in residential, commercial, construction, and industrial settings.
Electrical Technicians
There are a variety of jobs available to electrical technicians. These can include industrial, residential, construction, commercial, municipal, or utility settings. Common job duties may include installing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining a variety of electrical wiring, fixtures, and system equipment. Positions in this field may be found with independent electrical contractors, engineering firms, home builders, physical plant maintenance crews, and other organizations with independently-maintained electrical systems.
