When most people hear summer they think about things like beaches and barbecues. Here at Dorsey Schools, we think hands-on training and obtaining new skills. For those of you thinking about pursuing a new career, looking to change jobs, or perhaps just looking to learn a new trade, you are not alone! Going back to school as an adult can be difficult. But you’re here considering it, and that’s the first step. Now is the time to set your future in motion. There are numerous reasons to start school in the summer. Here are five:
- Beat the Fall Rush
Fall is generally the time to return to school and, odds are, you won’t be the only one planning to return. During the fall, classes are more likely to fill up and be crowded. During the summer months, classes may be smaller and more interactive because there are less students signing up, which means closer individual instruction and attention.
- The Sooner You Start, the Sooner You Finish
Finding the motivation and the time to go back to school can be hard. Wanting to put it off for later is only natural. But instead of procrastinating, be proactive in your education, because the longer you put it off, the longer it will ultimately take. By taking the first steps and making the commitment now, you will be one step closer to accomplishing your goal of starting a new career.
- You can set a Positive Example for Your Kids
Most kids will be going back to school in the fall. If you’re a parent you know that sometimes it can be difficult to convince your kids to willingly return to school after a 2-3 month vacation. By going back to school in the summer, you will be leading by example and preparing them to go in the fall. If your kids see you excited about going back to school now, imagine how this could help get them excited about returning to school in the fall?!
- Start Now and you could be in Your New Career before the Holiday Season of 2017
Most of the career training programs at Dorsey Schools can be completed in a year or less (although the actual time may vary depending on the program and the student). If you start now, you will most likely have completed the program and can be on your way to a new career well before holiday season next year. What better gift could you give yourself?
- Our Culinary Arts program Starts June 27th and Only Starts Four Times a Year. Now is the Time to Reserve your Seat
If you’re interested in joining the Culinary Arts Training program, now would be the time to register. Classes start June 27th and the program only admits new students four times a year. If you have a passion for food, why wait another three months? Set your future in motion now.
